Richard Armstrong takes a small number of advisory and non-executive roles each year, in organisations where spatial computing, digital twins or enterprise architecture significantly impact the strategy.

What he brings to the board

Forty years of enterprise architecture across UK central government, critical national infrastructure and FTSE-listed international business. Direct experience of programmes at £250M, £1BN and €15BN scale, in procurement, transformation, cloud migration and technology due diligence, including due diligence for acquisitions in Chile, Panama, Russia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Ethiopia.

He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, TOGAF 9 certified, and holds UK Government SC & Police level security clearance. He is a member of the Metaverse Standards Forum. He is a dual UK and Australian citizen.

He is most useful to boards facing one of three questions: whether a digital twin or spatial computing programme is real or theatre; whether a technology strategy will survive contact with a decade of delivery; or whether an acquisition's technology estate is what the vendor says it is.
